Sketch Outing

The art department had a sketch outing today. It's always a blast hanging out and drawing with awesome people, let alone at a place as awesome as the Field Museum! 

Zoo Day!

Today my friend/coworker Ashley and I had the day off, so we went to the zoo for some drawing. It was so much fun, even though the high was only around 40. We only spent about half the day there, but the animals were fairly active in the morning so it worked out.

The above sketches range from 10 seconds (if I was lucky, the gorillas loved to move) to about 2 minutes for some of the giraffes.

Ashley even was asked by two elementary school kids if she was a professional artist. D'awhhh.

Trying something a little different!

This was actually based on a graduation card I received from a neighbor. It was adorable, and I wanted to try a different rendition.

Fish!

My sister bought fish this past weekend as a birthday present to myself and my other sister. So, meet Cleo and Cary. Sadly, Cary died Sunday night, but Cleo is still hanging in there!
