Mimi Taichikawa

I was finally able to finish Mimi for the #DigimonCollab!

She was a ton of fun, and I love her so! Be sure to check out all the other awesome entries. And if you're interested, I believe there are a few openings left, so go!

Generation I

I finally got around to coloring all the DigiKids and putting them in a fun little line up! This was done on and off the past few weeks, and was such a blast to do. I seriously love each and every one of the kids, and so there was never a lull where I didn't want to continue. If only all projects were like that!

I also finished rewatching series one and two, and have ALL THE FEELINGS. This show broke me as a kid, and was just as emotional this time around.

To see each one up close, check out my tumblr.

Now to do Davis, Yolei, and Cory.

Courage, Knowledge, & Reliability

I've fallen down this rabbit hole where I have to draw all the DigiKids in fun, antigravity poses (you know, the kind that you see in 90% of anime intros). Having done Mimi, Matt, and Sora, here's Tai, Izzy, and Joe.

I'm really having such fun doing these not only because it's a neat challenge, but also because I'm hard pressed to find a kid I don't like. They're all so fleshed out, with families and interests and backstories, and I just love them so.

Friendship & Love

I'm working on a colored version of Mimi for the collab, but because of that I began marathoning Digimon on Netflix this past weekend. Bless you, Netflix, for acquiring that license.

I can't help draw these guys. I loved their character arcs, where Matt needed to ~find himself~ in the forest, and Sora needed to realize the love of her mother. It sounds cheesy when put in writing, but those are complex plot lines for a "kids" show, and makes me love it all the more.

The other kids are sure to follow, don't worry.

DigiCollab

There's a Digimon collab going on over on twitter, so take a peek if you're interested. There are a ton of awesome characters waiting to be claimed still, so get on it!

I snagged season one Mimi, and so here's a sketch trying to find a pose I liked. Still haven't decided to go with the hat on or off, though... So stay tuned as more Mimi sketches lay ahead, I'm sure.

I did a mini rewatch around Christmastime, and I just have so many feelings because this show is so deep on a character level. Mimi was always my favorite growing up, but I honestly have a really hard time picking just one favorite nowadays.

Still. Mimi's a girl after my own heart with that color scheme.
