Then & Now

Upwards of two years ago, I was approached to contribute to a book idea that a friend was getting off the ground. The premise? Dig up some childhood artwork and revisit it present day.

Luckily I had a plethora of awkward childhood gems on hand to reference, and was utterly giddy to be a small part of this book. Over 30 artists re-iminaged pieces from their youth, and it's just as awesome and embarrassing as it sounds.

Adam and Bob recently launched the Kickstarter for Then and Now, and with just over two weeks to go we've already reached our goal and are looking forward to adding some new fun tiers. Be sure to hop over and check it out!

First book of the year

One of my new years resolutions was to read more. As such, I just finished my first book of the year in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It was just as graphic as I'd heard, but it was very good nonetheless. Lisbeth is super awesome, and I couldn't resist drawing her.

Somewhere down the road I'll draw her in her "normal" outfits of leather jacket/jeans/boots/etc. But I loved how she forgoes all that "armor" in the latter half of the book, when she's more comfortable in her situation and immerses herself in her work.

034

My brother came home today with Frog and Toad Are Friends. And I was reminded of how much I loved that book when I was in elementary school. I drew this really quickly on the back of his homework for him while he was reading it.

HCA Love

"We must not imagine that there is nothing at the bottom of the sea but bare yellow sand." -Hans Christian Andersen

Love this quote! I recently found my HCA anthology, and I adore it.
